After years as the brain behind the beats on a number of hip-hop bangers, Reazy Renegade is stepping out into the spotlight as a solo artist. In the age of the producer, many producers are coming from behind the boards to rock the mic and Reazy is the game’s hottest next up. The Miami born and raised super producer, songwriter, and artist has been in the industry for years crafting classic hits for a variety of today’s mainstream artists such as DJ Khaled for his 2011 buzzing street single, “Welcome To My Hood,” as well as a number of tracks off of former label mate, Ace Hood’s Mixtape series, ‘Starvation.’
The seasoned music producer has a boasting resume including, Dave East’s “Woke Up,” Rick Ross’ “Jumping Ship,” Fabolous and Jadakiss’ “Stand Up” featuring Future,Tory Lanez’s “Super Freak,”along with the Wiz Khalifa-assisted “Phone Jumping.”
As ½ of ‘The Renegades,’ Reazy kicked off his transition as a solo artist by tapping Harlem emcee Dave East and Memphis native Moneybagg Yo. The lyrical trio have collaborated in the past but this time came back together at the top of November 2018 for the bustling track “Teller.” Reazy goes on to discuss the inspiration for the recent collab in an interview with Billboard.
“Around this time last year, Dave East dropped a project called Karma, on which I produced a track on it titled ‘Salty’ that featured MoneyBagg Yo. I remember thinking to myself, the contrast of these guys voices on the same track is impeccable… Wheels got to turning and I knew we had to spark another collab.”
A few months later the former We The Best signee sent East and Moneybagg a few records, they hopped in the booth to record the tracks and the rest was history. After inking a deal with Sony Music’s ‘The Orchard,’ Reazy added the final touches to the record and it was dropped shortly after. His latest release serves as the blueprint of what to expect from the Platinum producer in the new year. Reazy’s great ear for music makes it easy for him to lay his gritty cadence seamlessly over his street-style productions.
Poised to take over 2019, the new distribution deal with SONY positions the multi-faceted artist perfectly to take the industry by storm as a solo artist. Keep an eye out for the official visual for the MIA producer’s single “Teller,” set to drop in the first quarter.
