With the upcoming eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones quickly approaching and the hype through the roof, HBO and Columbia Records came together to announce the release of a soundtrack of music inspired by the show!

This is first time HBO has partnered up with a major label to curate a soundtrack specifically for the series. For The Throne(Music Inspired by the HBO Series ‘Game of Thrones’) is set to drop April 26th, featuring new music from an eclectic lineup of musicians assembled for this “inspired by” collection such as SZA, The Weeknd,Chloe x Halle, A$AP Rocky, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Peep,The National, Mumford and Sons, Rosalía, MUSE’s Matthew Bellamy, and Ellie Goulding, amongst many others.

The tracklist is still forthcoming but one of the tracks will be a collaboration between SZA, Travis Scott, and The Weeknd according to Pitchfork. The song titles are as much under wraps as spoilers for the final season are although the album is already up for pre-order at digital retailers with generic track numbers attached.

Cincinnati rock band, The National previously recorded a version of “ The Rains of Castamere,” which played over the end credits of season two episode of “Blackwater” where Mumford and Sons played as the real life wedding band for GOT co-stars Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie, so it’s only right to have them featured on the inspired soundtrack. Even a rare solo number by Matthew Bellamy, without his mates in Muse, is also slated for the set.

The highly anticipated complimentary album will be available for pre-order in eleven different vinyl configurations: with hopes to appeal to the LP enthusiasts with one colored vinyl in hues of fire and ice, nine cover variants representing each house crest, and one standard black.

The eighth season of Game Of Thrones premieres this Sunday, April 14th! Tune in!
