Hip Hop has seen many new releases over the past several months. Additionally, along with these singles- creative visuals.

In reviewing the Bill Board Top 100 Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart from the beginning of June and comparing it to this month’s– not much has changed. Bruno Mars and DJ Khaled have still been battling to hold on to that number one spot as other Artists also fluctuate within the chart. However, the music video views paint a different kind of picture as far as rank goes. Regardless, though, the success of these songs can not be disputed.

1. Bruno Mars – “That’s What I Like”

(682,062,452 views)

This single was released in January 2017. However, this music video was not released until March of this year.

2. DJ Khaled- “I’m The One” featuring Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne, Quavo, and Justin Bieber

(451,370,153 views)

Both the music video, and audio, of “I’m The One” were released in April 2017.

3. Post Malone- “Congratulations” featuring Quavo

(301,300,947 views)

The audio was released last year, but this music video was released in January of this year. The single is currently holding down the number six spot on the Bill Board Top Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart.

4. Kendrick Lamar – “Humble”

(240,113,488 views)

This video was released in March 2017. The song was ranked in the third position on the Bill Board Top Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart early last month, but is sitting at the number four spot right now.  However, “Humble” is Kendrick Lamar’s first single to become a number one, and the DAMN. album is now platinum, according to Bill Board.

5. Lil Uzi Vert – “XO Tour Llif3”

The official audio for Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3” was released in February, but the music video dropped in March. Currently, it is #7 on this Bill Board Top Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart. It was #5 at the beginning of June and #6 just last week. XO Tour Llif3 has gone platinum too according to XXL.

6. French Montana – “Unforgettable” featuring Swae Lee

(148,074,820 views)

This visual was published in April 2017. The track is currently ranked at #9 on the Bill Board Top Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart. “Unforgettable” went platinum last month.

 7. DJ Khaled – “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller

(110,941,459 views)

This spirited single is a modern spin on the classic “Maria, Maria” by Santana featuring The Product G&B and is currently #3 on the Bill Board Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart.

That is two tracks for DJ Khaled at the top of the charts right now (“I’m The One” is currently #1).

8. Future – “Mask Off”

(91,053,056 views)

This visual was released May 5th. Additionally, though, “Mask Off” has changed positions on the chart over the past month. It was in the number four position, but is now ranked at number #5. Still, this Future track is certified platinum.

9. Childish Gambino – Redbone

(87,224,771 views)

Though, there is still no official music video for the hit single, it has been making moves on this Bill Board Top Hip Hop Songs/R&B Songs chart. It was positioned as #14 at the start of June, but currently is seated at #8. “Redbone” is also certified platinum.

Music videos are powerful means of sharing messages, and generating revenue, for Artists according to Nielsen. These Artists in particular, though, seem to have mastered this art.

Numbers don’t lie.
