A$AP Rocky has been found guilty of misdemeanor assault by a Stockholm district court.
Stockholms Tingsrätt broke the news, the 30-year-old rapper, along with two co-defendants, Bladimir Corniel and David Rispers, were found guilty by four judges in the assault case of 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari in a street fight in Stockholm, Sweden on June 30th. Judges ruled against Rocky’s claim of self-defense, stating, “were not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense.”
Already served a month in a Swedish detention center. In the ruling, Rocky is spared jail time, instead receives a suspended sentence of various fee and fines. Rocky and co-defendants are ordered to pay victim’s damages for “pain and suffering” and the state’s legal expenses and use of public defense counseling.
Rocky turned himself into Stockholm authorities on July 3 and was incarcerated until August 2, following a three-day trial. Rocky has returned to Los Angeles, California since the release.
Last Saturday (August 10), during his first performance since the international incident at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Rocky spoke on the pending verdict with fans, saying, “Hopefully I’m not guilty and hopefully we ain’t gotta go back to jail or nothing like that.”
Both Rocky and attorneys have yet to comment on the guilty verdict. Stay tuned for more as the story develops.
