Before we get into this interview you may want to check out my favorite songs from Adriel Diaz!
For those who don’t know who you are, who is Adriel Diaz?
I’m an independent artist out of the bay area and I genuinely love the hell out of music. I love music that can make you feel something, no matter whatever the heck it may be, when you hear a song, it should make your soul feel something. That’s my goal and what I want for my music whether it be dancing, lyricism or smooth r&b, I want you to feel what I feel.
Does your name have a story behind it?
Honestly my name doesn’t have much of a story behind it. The one thing I can say though is my grandfather recently passed away and that made me want to live up to his name and make him proud.
What was your first name when you started in the music industry?
HAHAHA yooo my first name was actually Young Aze but shhhh don’t tell anybody that bro…haha just kidding.
How would you describe your sound?
It’s crazy that you asked that because when I first got into music my sound was basically pop. Now that I’m getting older I feel like I’m starting to discover a new sound for myself which is a very Hip-Hop and R&B lane that I’m excited to start showing people. Most of my fans and people actually haven’t even heard nor do I think they expect what I’ve got coming.
When did you discover your love for music?
As cliché as it sounds, I had a dream at the age of eight that I was performing on stage in front of millions of people and I woke up knowing what I wanted to be. The feeling of thousand of people singing the same song that I was performing gave me some type of high that’s really indescribable. I’ve been chasing my dream ever since.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever been given?
That’s a tough one. Probably just to remain true to myself.
What’s the meanest critic you have received in your career?
Too many to count haha but one that stuck with me was when someone commented on my video when I was 13 saying something along the lines of, “The only people commenting and hyping you up on here are your family and friends. You suck.”
Who’s the most played artist on your phone right now?
What’s your favorite new track that’s out?
Ah shoot either Boy by E-40, B-Legit & P-Lo or Why by Bazzi
How long you been doing music?
I’ve been making music since I was 13 and going hard for about 6 years now.
Are we expecting anything new soon?
Actually, I may have something coming either late this month or next month. I may drop a cover as well just for fun and games.
What inspires you to keep going?
My love for music. I don’t need the fame, I don’t need the riches, I just want to make a living doing what I love. Many hop in music for different reasons, claiming this & that but I foreal love the music. I don’t care if I’m the only one to ever hear my songs, I’ll be in my bedroom rocking out to them by myself always making more. Music is my passion.
What’s your favorite kind of Oreo?
I’m more of a donut or madeline kind of guy to keep it real but if I had to choose, the classic would be my go to.
What’s your go to food when your hungry?
In-N-Out, no doubt.
Favorite song of all time?
Man is this even a fair question?! Probably J-Cole Love Yourz due to lyricism.
What’s a piece of dating advice you would recommend people should know?
Don’t change yourself to be what someone else wants, just be you and keep it real from the jump. Both people can be thinking two very different things and nobody says anything until someone ends up getting hurt.
Where can we find you on social media?
If you search my artist name up Adriel Diaz, my accounts should pop up for IG, Twitter, Facebook and pretty much everything else. Sorry if I don’t post much, I’m trying to get better at it haha.
Who’s going to be the next person you are going to collab with?
Probably this dude named Adriel Diaz. I heard he’s got some cool verses and stuff so I might mess around and see what he drops on a track. Hahaha just kidding man probably one of my friends at the studio unless Bruno Mars or J-Cole want to hop on a track.
Who’s your dream collab?
Here’s a few: Bruno Mars, J-Cole, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Drake, Macklemore, and Mike Stud.
Is there anything else you want to let everyone know?
Well if you made it this far I gotta say, I truly appreciate you because most people won’t make it past scrolling past the photo I post on Instagram haha. But seriously thank you for supporting me and being patient as I haven’t been super active lately. Over this past year or so I’ve been trying to find my sound and I feel like I’m starting to get it so with that said, I’m about to start releasing a lot more music. With more music also means more shows so hopefully I get to see some familiar faces and new ones. I miss you all man you have no idea and I’m excited for what’s to come.
