The Jordan Brand WINGS Program has expanded from being a local Chicago youth outreach program in partnership with Triple Threat Mentoring to becoming a global community impact platform encouraging youth to pursue higher education all the while providing mentorship and utilizing the power of sport to instill confidence in the enrolled youth. Since the conception of the mentorship program, Jordan Brand has been curating original colorways in representation of the WINGS Program and using a percentage of the proceeds to fund the initiative. Now, we’re getting a look at the latest silhouette to join the Air Jordan ‘WINGS’ Collection with this Air Jordan V ‘WINGS’ retro sneaker.

In the past, the Air Jordan ‘WINGS’ Collection has held on to a common theme of black/gold color blocking and what’s now become the notorious Air Jordan feather graphics clearly symbolizing wings. This is the first Air Jordan ‘WINGS’ silhouette we’ve seen ditch the theme for a more original design this time around for the Air Jordan V ‘WINGS’.

The sneaker features a white leather base complete with cartoon-esque hand-drawn graphics found throughout the entire base of the sneaker. A 3M reflective ‘Cool Grey’ tongue holds an embroidered Jumpman logo while a matching embroidered Jumpman logo hits the heel of the kicks in ‘University Red’.

Glow-in-the-dark detailing hits the silhouette’s updated WINGS logo lacelocks and synthetic WINGS feather paneling on the medial and lateral sides of the sneaker as well as across the vamp of the sneaker. A pastel green hue hits the shark teeth detailing on the midsole of kicks as the sneakers are closed out with a partially translucent outsole and the classic WINGS photo textile canvas patch stitched on the inner tongue of the silhouette.

Supposedly, every pair of ‘WINGS’ Air Jordan Vs will feature different graphics which will be interesting to see how the resell market reacts to the varying versions of the sneaker.

A concrete release date for the Air Jordan V ‘WINGS’ has yet to be revealed but, the silhouette is set to drop sometime this summer. Let us know if you’re feeling these joints in the comment section.
