Since the conception of A Bathing Ape in 1993, the clothing company has led and embodied Japanese streetwear culture which eventually found its way to the Western world and took over the American streetwear aesthetic during the 2000s. Fashion designer, music producer, DJ, and renaissance man, Tomoaki Nagao, better known by the general public as Nigo, is the man behind the notorious brand and despite leaving the brand for good in 2013, he still finds outlets to remain creative and relevant in the culture. With the brand officially 25-years-old, A Bathing Ape is still curating some of the dopest product on the market and their brand new BAPE FW18 Collection proves exactly that.
The BAPE Fall/Winter 2018 Collection features some design elements we’ve seen come from the brand in the past, utilizing their notorious camouflage print on a plethora of different clothing and accessory options including, military-themed collared jacket, tactical hoodies paired with the brand’s notorious shark graphic, bomber jackets, fur-lined winter hooded coats, shawl-cut overcoats, pullover sweaters, cargo pants, sweat shorts, and tropic-themed flap hats.
Other styles included in the BAPE FW18 Collection include more conventional looks like tracksuits, t-shirts that feature the classic Ape logo, Instagram-themed t-shirts, new denim options, and the latest streetwear fashion accessory in a camo-printed chest pack. The classic A Bathing Ape BAPEsta sneaker also makes a return crocodile-textured overlays, dual star logos, as well as a footwear option that resembles the Nike SB Dunk High and features the brand’s shark and varsity logos.
Come this Saturday, July 7th, the BAPE Fall/Winter 2018 Collection will be available via the BAPE website, here, as well as their flagship stores in cities like Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. Check out the collection for yourself and let us know if you’re feeling the brand’s new direction in the comment section.
