Coming out of Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, New York surrounded by the sounds of music moguls like Jay Z, Jay Citee developed a distinctive ear for music tempos and flows at a very young age; eventually, deciding early on to put his music talents to the test. Not only did he learn the amount of time and effort it takes to create a record, but he studied the success stories of some of the artists who were most influential to him.
Day in and day out, Jay Citee continued to find ways to elevate his musical talents with intention to prepare himself for the position he wanted to be in.
For the past few years, Jay Citee has taken his talents to multiple showcases and has even won awards for best performance on countless stages.
In addition, his originality and distinctive sound have been instrumental in giving him the chance to open up for Hip Hop artists such as Playboi Carti and Dave East.
Along with this, Jay has also gained a professional involvement in New York City’s nightlife, allowing him to have an understanding of all aspects of the industry from an artist, venue, and managerial standpoint.
In his most recent project In My Own Lane, Jay demonstrates his pure grind and focus as he continues to discover new ways to make his mark in the industry.
In his latest Cash Money AP produced single “Pull Up”, he describes the fact that as he begins to make his mark in the industry, he’s received empty threats from those who don’t want to see him progress.
“ A lot of people like to talk but they never want to pull up My Touch Money/ Jawns Only crew are people that I trust so if anything ever goes down, I know who has my back – that’s why we use the saying, Trust My Brothers”.
When asked, Jay mentions:
“”Pull Up” took me a little under an hour to write. Everything just fell right into place., I was in a good space mentally It was me speaking facts and putting everything into perspective; too many people out here talking, but acting tough. I was just saying how I felt, with no features”
“In My Own Lane” is a finished project that doesn’t consist of any features because I want my supporters to see what flavor I can bring on my own.
A lot of long nights went into putting this production together so I know people will love it. I feel satisfied with this project. “
With that being said, get ready for the release of “In My Own Lane”, and in the meantime, check out the full-length track and visual for pull up
