Cardi B has made such a name for herself and the popularity just continues to grow by the day. She started out as a stripper and then made her way to TV when she starred in VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York. Now, she has turned herself into a household name with her single “Bodak Yellow.” Not only has the song become a New York anthem and a staple song for women but it is officially the highest charting female solo rap song since Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda.”
“Bodak Yellow” has been on the charts for quite some time now but this past week it broke its way into the top 20 landing in at No. 14. The “Lick” MC was nominated for a BET Award earlier this summer and even gained the attention of Drake. On August 7 at the 8th annual OVO Fest, the 6 God brought out the Bronx native to perform her hit record. Things are definitely looking great for raps new highest charting female spitter.
