Drake adds another No. 1 album to his repertoire. His ninth to be exact.
The Toronto native released his newest archival compilation album, Care Package, on Aug. 2nd featuring 17 never officially released classics. Drizzy fans no longer have to search SoundCloud or YouTube to find favorites like “Trust Issues,” “How Bout Now,” and “Paris Morton Music.” A gift indeed as Drake took to Instagram to announce the release of Care Package, calling it, “Some of our most important moments together available in one place. Care Package.” The album surely is the gift that keeps on giving as it earned 109,000 album units in its first week sending the hip-hop phenomenon back to the top of the Billboard Hot 200 list.
Care Package, solidifies Drake’s title of being the artist with the most No.1 albums of this decade. Since 2010 all of Drizzy’s albums have landed at No.1, a hip-hop phenomenon indeed. He’s currently tied with Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, and Eminem who all have nine albums that have reached the top of the Billboard Hot 200.
The compilation is also the first No.1 album dropped under the label he cofounded, OVO Sound, as all of his previous albums were released under Republic/Young Money/Cash Money.
