It was reported about a month ago that Kanye West was somewhere in the mountains of Wyoming working on some new music. There was also some stories going around that G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha T was making countless visits to check up on his good friend and his music. Although Kanye has been labeled a creative genius in many forms, it doesn’t seem like Def Jam is pushing the issue too much about ‘Ye getting his new music out.
In an interview with Variety Def Jam CEO, Steve Bartels says that they’re not pushing for a fast release of Kanye’s follow-up project.
“I don’t know if that’s real or not, I read the same things you do,” Bartels said in regards to the Wyoming stories. “When we talk we don’t really get down to the granular of where he’s going and how he’s flying there, we keep it much more on a broader level. Kanye is working, that’s been widely reported. He’s always very focused, and our relationship with him is that we always have great respect for him and when he’s ready to do something or talk about something, we’re there for him, we totally support his vision and his focus, and that’s where we leave it.”
If a new Kanye album is indeed on the way, be on the lookout for it!
