The Marathon Continues…
DJ Khaled‘s highly anticipated and long-teased album ‘Father of Asahd’ dropped at midnight. The star-studded album features household names including JAY-Z, Beyoncé, Cardi B, Nas, SZA, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Future, Post Malone, 21 Savage, Chance the Rapper, Big Sean, J Balvin, and many more.
The album is accompanied with a visual for the single dubbed “Higher” featuring the late Nipsey Hussle and John Legend. Khaled announced via Instagram on Wednesday(May 15th) that all the money earned from the single will go to Nipsey’s two children, Emani and Kross Ashghedom.
“It began when a tragedy robbed the world of an enlightened soul, a brother, a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle,” the post said. “Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called ‘Higher.”
The video captures Nip in a satin blue suit as he raps aside Khaled and a soulful John Legend siting at a grand piano.
“The very title of the song reminds us that vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the essence of Nipsey’s soul…” Khaled wrote.
