Upon the release of Rich The Kid‘s debut mixtape in 2013, Been About The Benjamins, he’s been ripping and running ever since.  From mixtape to mixtape, to starting his very own label, ain’t no tellin’ us different – definitely all about the benjamins.

While just two days prior, the Queens, NY born rapper born Dimitri Leslie Roger was escorted off of a Delta plane by police at LAX for “not being respectful of other passengers” while playing his music over the speakers instead of through headphones, he was blessed to get away with a minor warning – breadth to write another tale.

“I was broke, turned nothing to something” – Like This

Moving to Atlanta, GA with his mother when he was 13 after his parent’s divorced, the Haitian-American emcee sat down with the Rapfest to discuss his motivation which keeps him moving forward.  As to what keeps him going, the father of 3 declared that his family is what drives him to make his dreams come true, the opportunity to take care of them is his number one.

After linking up with the Migos through a mutual friend at a club following the release of Been About the Benjamins, Rich exclaimed, “After that, it was history.” The guys subsequently released two collaborated mixtapes Streets On Lock (volume 1 and 2) that same year, and a third volume in 2014.  Since then, he has worked with Young Thughttp://therapfest.com/hot-new-hip-hop-latest-videos/young-thug-drops-the-visuals-to-his-new-single-safe/, OG Maco, Lil Yachty, Wiz Khalifa, Frank Ocean, Kirko Bangz, Yo Gotti, Riff Raff, Jaden Smith, Soulja Boy, Zaytoven, Fetty Wap, PARTYNEXTDOOR and more.

Rich dropped his second solo mixtape Feels Good To Be Rich August 2014, featuring now incarcerated Brooklyn GS9 rapper Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel over “On My Way”.  His work ethic proving nonstop, 2015 was no different.  Back with the Migos, they unleashed another joint tape Still On Lock, followed by his third solo drop “Flexin’ On Purpose” where Fetty WapTy Dolla $ign, Rich Homie Quan and Young Dolph got shine.

Hitting all camera angles and building quite a name for himself within his clearly beloved Hip Hop, it was only a matter of time Rich The Kid would sign his own artists under  his own label Rich Forever Music, which he started in March of last year.  Signing Chicago based rapper Famous Dex and producer TheLabCook, cooking up more heat and growing more of a fan base, leading to his most recent mixtape The Rich Forever Way.

Facetiming with rapper Desiigner in the middle of the shoot, Rich is moving quite fast in the game although still quite young, he proclaimed as to how he does it all, “Stay focused, stay in my lane, and just make history.  I’m already making history by being here, so I’m just trying to keep motivated.”  And as we already conveyed, there is a lot at stake.

In December 2016 Rich The Kid signed Brooklyn, NY rapper Jay Critch to his label, piecing it all together.  And dropping Rich Forever Music: The Mixtape, his deal with 300 Entertainment, and Rich Forever 2 in July, the sky is the limit as to where this guy will end up at his going rate.
