Luxury vehicles have been apart of the culture since the conception of hip-hop. There aren’t too many more ways to flex on your opposition than to pull up in an expensive whip. Now, it looks like the luxury vehicle market is focusing on practicality and providing their buyers with the regular everyday necessities consumers utilize their vehicles for, transporting family from point A to point B. And Rolls-Royce is attempting to hop into the SUV market alongside other luxury car brands like Cadillac, Mercedez-Benz, Land Rover, Bentley, and Porsche with the introduction of their very first full-sized family SUV entitled, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is named after the world’s largest diamond ever mined and features a plethora of amenities that justify the luxury SUV’s $325,000 starting price tag.
For all of the authentic car enthusiasts out there, Rolls-Royce’s first ever SUV comes with a 6.75 liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, that’s able to crank out 627 lb-ft in torque, reach a maximum of 562 horsepower, resulting in a top speed of 155 mph. Additional standard driving features also include an all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering system.
Many might not think a luxury vehicle brand like Rolls-Royce would design an automobile that was made for a multitude of different environmental terrain types outside of paved roads but, it looks like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan will have these capabilities. Weighing in at a total of 5,800 pounds, riding on 22-inch wheels with narrow sidewalls, the Cullinan features a computer-controlled air shock system that allows the SUV to be taken off-road while maintaining the smooth ride of an elite luxury vehicle.
The Cullinan also features a brand new double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle suspension which results in one best riding SUVs in production today while the interior of the vehicle embodies luxury and provides the ultimate amount of comfortability for both its driver and passengers.
On the inside of the hand-polished stainless steel grille and aluminum VIII Phantom-inspired spaceframe of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, you can find front and backseat heated armrest, a backseat panel constructed out of a single piece of buttery-soft leather, and a glass partition separating the passenger cabin from the rear luggage compartment.
Mass production of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan has recently begun after testing of the vehicle begin during the fourth quarter of 2015. First customer deliveries are to begin during the end of 2018 and the first quarter of 2019 so, we can expect to see some of our favorite public figures hopping out of the Cullinan sooner rather than later.
