Fox News has now gotten rid of one of their biggest stars, Bill O’Reilly following  sexual harassment allegations against him. O’Reilly is now leaving behind a  two-decade reign as one of the most popular and influential commentators in television. In a recent statement, 21st Century Fox, Fox News’s parent company, says, “After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,”

The New York Times has recently found out that “the company and Mr. O’Reilly reached settlements with five women who had complained about sexual harassment or other inappropriate behavior by him. The agreements totaled about $13 million.”

Over 50 advertisers have since abandoned the show and also outraged many women who questioned if Fox truly cared about the well being of women and if they really believed in “trust and respect,” as they had promised last summer after another sexual harassment scandal forced the ouster of Fox News’s chairman, Roger Ailes.

O’Reilly denies all the allegations being thrown upon him. He has been an anchor at Fox since 1966. He has had one of the top rated shows on that network.
