Sometimes, the dominant society tends to disregard the small pockets of subculture movements that are taking place right under our noses. You’d think with easy access to major social media platforms, these movements would become more prevalent and recognized by some of these self-proclaimed ‘tastemakers’. But a Russian designer/photography by the name of Gosha Rubchinskiy has silently slipped his way into the forefront of luxury streetwear and this now surfacing Gosha Rubchinskiy FW18 Parka will be one of this year’s standout pieces of the season providingRubchinskiy with the attention he wholeheartedly deserves.

For those of you unaware of Rubchinskiy’s influence and work, Gosha is a Moscow, Russia-born creative who began his journey into the fashion realm after curating a series of t-shirts in 2008 and in an insanely short amount of time, was able to produce full collections of suiting, casual wear, denim, and accessories which is now being physically manufactured by highly-popularized Japanese streetwear company, Comme des Garçons.

Gosha Rubchinskiy’s brand entitled, ГОША РУБЧИНСКИЙ, is inspired by the fall of the Iron Curtain, what is also known as the dissolution of the Soviet Union that officially took place in December of 1991. Rubchinskiy also happens to be influenced by Russia’s [hidden] youth and street culture and recently collaborated with major brands like KAPPA and adidas.

Now, Gosha’s latest offering comes in the form of an elongated N-3B parka constructed out of 100% polyester tech-fabric complete with a detachable, drawstring, brown faux-fur lined, butterfly-cut hood, a removable white faux-fur trim, and extended neckband collar for severe weather conditions. The design takes on a checkered patchwork motif of various camouflage types including both traditional, digitized animal print, and forest leaf camo in contrasting vivid hues and earth tones while the inner-lining of the winterwear comes dressed in a neutral olive hue.

Additional features include snappable, angled double-front well pockets, snap flap side pockets, a button-and-loop storm placket, and a two-way zip-front closure as yet another form of defense from harsh winter climates.

We have a feeling we’ll be seeing Gosha’s creation on the back of some of the culture’s elite and if you’d secure the bag in order to pre-order the Gosha Rubchinskiy FW18 Parka, you can do so via the Barney’s website, here, for a retail price tag of $2,460.
