St. Louis native, Doughboy, knows exactly what it feels to start from the bottom; and that through hard work and dedication he is indeed on his ‘Way Up’.

With his debut of much-anticipated mixtape release SAKrifices in 2015 featuring artists like Caskey of YMCMB and Lucci; and then follow-up a year later (June 2016) with SAKrifices 2.5 that received over 1 million downloads, plus some more hot features by the likes of Rich The Kid and more.  With his next EP currently being prepped for a summer drop – although no specific date, Doughboy comes with what looks to be his first single off the project “Way Up.”

His video concept for single, ‘Way Up’,  is beyond dope. With many chopped and screwed scenes and trippy shots of 3-D edits, proves his creative direction; while the song covers his struggle from being broke in life to being able to provide for himself and his family.

Doughboy said in statement that, “The record is really a positive record. I made the record at a time when I was finally getting back to being myself. Weeks or even days before I wrote the record, I was flat broke; like had no money to even buy food type broke. And at that time, I knew I had to get up and get it. I’m not rich at the moment, but definitely not at the point I was at before. Now, I feel way up.”
