Hip Hop Museum & Entertainment Mega-Complex could begin construction as soon as February 2018.

The Hip Hop Hall of Fame is a non-profit founded by James Thompson. James is also an Army veteran. He started the organization on a mission to primarily chronicle Hip Hop’s influence & significance on economic and social factors. Furthermore, Thompson even created and executive-produced a Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards show on BET.

Also according to Newsweek, The Hip Hop Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday, June 6th, that they won a bid for a building in Harlem near the Apollo Theater. It is a twenty story building as recorded in Time Out New York. Additionally, the development will be completed in two phases. The Hip Hop Museum is set to feature an art gallery, event space, multimedia studio, and a number of other amenities.

The non-profit is also said to be hosting a $150 million fundraising campaign to assist in constructing the museum. Lastly, James Thompson admitted that he’d wanted to get the project completed years ago. He said after the loss of Tupac and Biggie- he felt that it wasn’t the right time.

So now, with the building secured, maybe Hip Hop lovers can eventually experience The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum.
