While his former teammates from the New England Patriots were scheduled to meet with Donald Trump today at the White House in honor of their SuperBowl win this year, a one Aaron Hernandez was found hung in his jail cell early this morning.

Although being acquitted last week for a double-murder charge, where two men were killed in a drive-by shooting outside of a Boston nightclub in 2012,  Hernandez was already serving a life sentence for the alleged murder of his fiancee’s sister’s boyfriend, Odin Lloyd in 2013.

So while getting off the hook for one, the life sentence for another crime would still linger. Following last weeks victory of sorts, Hernandez’ lawyer revealed that it is his belief that from what he had come to learn about Hernandez through handling the double murder trial, he didn’t believe the former Patriot to have actually committed the crime of which he was serving life for.  Joey Baez, famously known for getting suspected child killer Casey Anthony off her highly publicized case, believed he could get Hernandez off for the Lloyd murder case as well, “And if he hires me for the second trial we’re going to go all at it, and nothing would make me happier than to prove everybody wrong.”  But talks of whether or not the former football player would be able to afford Baez for another round was questionable.

Learning a bit about Hernandez’ past, it is said that he was heavily delved in a certain type of street life.  Doing drive-by’s while on full ride scholarship to a better life; but as the saying goes, you can take the boy out of the hood, but you can’t take the hood out of the boy.

A year prior to being found guilty of killing Lloyd, Hernandez even signed a $40 million extension with the Patriots in 2012.    At that rate, you can pay your way out of a troubled lifestyle as a lot of people do when they come up; but the gift of being able to make a choice for one’s self can be life changing if decided righteously.

In light of the news of Hernandez’ death, Patriot spokesperson Stacey James said, “We are aware of the reports, but I don’t anticipate that we will be commenting today.”

A little cold much!  They could have at least released a Rest in Peace.
