BET’s The Grand Hustle

Recording Artist Tip “T.I ” Harris is known for his multi facet of entrepreneurial skills. This time, he was looking to expand his Grand Hustle business empire by seeking for the next skilled executive to join the team by awarding them a 6-figure salary. The Grand Hustle consisted of 16 men and women who competed for the position, whereas New York native Krystal Garner proved to T.I  that she has the entrepreneurial filled, poise, and driven mindset.

With over 8 years of experience in the industries of Entertainment, Modeling, and Television, Krystal used the lessons learned to prepare her for the show and how to maneuver each challenge presented.  She states: “I  was born to do this and I  went in with that mindset and that is how I  won”. She mentions how hungry everyone was when entering the home and hustling was the only thing on their minds.

I  started because I  was not afraid to build connections with various individuals whether in the industry or those I went to college with. Networking is so important. One hint of advice- your social media should speak for what you do. Personally, I want people to think of my name every time they think of things they need a task/job to be completed”.

Krystal says her life was no all peaches and cream in 2011 when she decided that she was no longer working for “the man” and started her entrepreneurial track. We all know that living in New York is not cheap, but when a job is affecting your overall mental and physical health, it is time to call quits. She encourages everyone to not only chase after their dream, but to create their own opportunities. She describes her method as the ABC method: Always Be Creating.

On The Grand Hustle, Krystal learned more about herself as a person. Episode 4 was the challenge that she enjoyed the most as it was a task on bringing awareness of incarceration. In this day and time, this topic is heavy within the minority communities, primarily African American men. She used her connects from working radio to raise the awareness to thousands of viewers.

Her final words are: “I want to be known as a professional, accurate, and motivational”
