Stephen Hernley aka Izzy Strange is an American rapper and songwriter. He was raised in the rural area of Scottdale, Pennsylvania (about 45 minutes south of Pittsburgh). The producer/emcee has opened up for the likes of Corey Gunz, K Camp, Chris Webby, Hi-Rez, Milo, Blu & Exile, Kat Dahlia, RITTZ, Illogic, Soul Kahn, Real Deal, Louis Logic, Ceschi Ramos and more. His most recent body of work comes by way of his 2017 album entitled “A Good Day 2 B the Bad Guy”. The project features guest artists such as Mick Jenkins, Blu, Eligh, Open Mike Eagle and Red Pill. Production for the project came from Grammy award winner Nate Fox, Casa Nada and Netherfriends.

He continues to build upon last year’s momentum with the upcoming release of his “Strange Crow” EP. The project will feature four tracks in total and is produced by Living Legends own, Eligh. Two singles have been released thus far, the Billy Joel sampled “Wolverine” and today’s presentation, “Holding On To Pain”. For this track, Izzy speaks about the process of what holding on to pain can cause, both positive and negative. With Eligh joining him on the single, the pair dive deep into the human psyche, explaining how some people transform their pain to triumph while others loathe within it, ultimately driving themselves to the brink of insanity.

Production for “Holding On To Pain” meshes Hip Hop, Blues and western themes, creating a multiple genre ensemble that breaks the current mold of rap music today. Danny G also co-produced the song, adding in eloquent guitar elements that actuate the tainted tales told by Strange and Eligh.

Aside from the “Strange Crow” EP, Izzy has alot more music coming this year. He has two more collab singles coming, one with Mick Jenkins and another with Blu, a short movie for “Run Em’ Thru The Sticks” from AGD2BTBG and much more. In the meantime, check out the emotion evoking sounds of “Holding On To Pain” and stay updated with Izzy via his online media outlets.
