Straight from the dome..

Jay Z is not only one of the most legendary artists in hip-hop but he is one of the most legendary artists in music period.  In continuing to expand his legacy, The Associated Press revealed that Hov is one of the many nominees for the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame.  Mr. Carter joins other well known artists such as George Michael, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Babyface, Max Martin, Kool & the Gang, and many more.

This is a pretty big achievement for Hov because this makes him the first hip-hop artist ever to be nominated for the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame.

Songwriters are eligible for induction after writing hit songs for at least 20 years. Jay Z, who released his debut project, Reasonable Doubt, in 1996, has had multiple hit records for the last few decades that includes Big Pimpin, Hard Knock Life, 99 Problems, Empire State of Mind, and many others.

According to the report, eligible members have until December 16th to vote for three non-performing songwriters and two performing. The finalist will be officially inducted at a ceremony in New York on June 15th 2017.

Congrats to Jay Z!
