If you’ve been keeping up with Jay Z and his negotiating process with Live Nation then you would know that this deal has been cooking up for a while. Well, it finally seems like the two came to an agreement. Word is that Hov just extended his deal with Live Nation for 10 years worth $200 million. That’s a big bag!
Back in 2012, Rick Ross dropped an album called God Forgives, I Don’t. On that album there was song that featured Dr. Dre and Jay Z called “3 Kings” and in Hov’s verse he mentions the deal that he was working on with Live Nation.
“Ran through that buck 50 Live Nation fronted me. They working on another deal, they talking 250. I’m holding out for three. 275 and I just might agree,” he rapped.
This new partnership includes worldwide touring, which Live Nation will do their part in helping produce and promote any of Jay Z’s forthcoming concerts. Although Jay hasn’t been seen doing many shows, he is slated to headline a couple festivals this year such as Made in America, the Meadows Festival and Austin City Limits, a Texas festival he’s headlining with Red Hot Chili Peppers.
There are even some rumors going around that Hov may be dropping an album soon. A picture hit Instagram about a week ago thanks to Swizz Beats, and it gave Instagramers an indication that an album is definitely coming. Jay’s last full-length project was 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Forbes also just named Hov the second wealthiest man in hip-hop right behind Diddy and a lot of this can be traced back to the new deal he recently closed with Sprint buying a third of Tidal.
It’s looking like the rest of this year will belong to Jigga!
