Last year Jaye Newton and his business partner and producer Bossman blessed us with their great Real Men Wear Pink project and if you haven’t listened to it be sure to check that out. Now the two are back with their first project of 2018 Sunroof Season. While the last project contained a mix of many genres this one was heavily influenced by R&B and Soul and artists such as Teddy Riley, Joedci, The Isley Brothers and more. Just take a listen to the song “All Night” you would have thought it dropped in the 90s. With every project that comes out, it seems like Jaye and Bossman’s chemistry gets better, when asked about how this project differed creatively he said
“Bossman and I were more comfortable with experimenting and we had a vision ahead of time of the vibe we were shooting for. This is the first project we made completely from scratch (minus thirsty which was recorded in 2016) while living together. We were able to have more conversations and experiences that we later scored and painted on this project. I think this project coming in we knew our sound and were less stressed.”
With the weather finally getting nicer this is the perfect project to add to your playlist. Being inspired by his complex love life and dripping in heavy 90’s R&B vibes with some bangers mixed in Jaye Newton and Bossman have once again crafted an amazing project that I will definitely be playing into the warmer months.
“I went in this project with the intent to make the soundtrack to people Summer. I remember projects like the ‘Warm-Up,’ ‘The Yellow Album’ and ‘1999 were soundtracks to my summers coming up and I wanted a project that could give the same feeling to someone. I wanted the project to be very nostalgic and have extensive longevity going forward.”
So sit back relax and enjoy the Summer time vibes by Jaye Newton and Bossman.
