Songstress Jhene Aiko has been out of the limelight for a bit using the time to reinvent her sound and image. Though it is safe to say that it was for good reason.
As a comeback, the R&B artist decided to not only give fans a 20-minute long short film and poetry book but also her 90-minute long surprise album entitled “Trip.” Although it took nearly three years to complete, the project it’s self-encompasses a great deal of passion and honesty.
In a press conference, Jhené expresses that her greatest inspiration for the project came from the by the death of her brother to cancer in 2012.
Saying quote “I hope to inspire others to share their grief and pain, because I believe suffering can be alleviated when we understand we are not going through any of it alone.”
