Tinashe‘s long-delayed sophomore effort, Joyride, is finally seeing the light of day in less than a month!! This is causing a lot of hype all over social media. Come April 13, the multi talented pop artist will drop the album, ending more than a year delay for the release.
This past Friday March 16, revealing the release date along with the album artwork. In front of a grey backdrop, Tinashe‘s silhouette appears attached to a futuristic metal one-piece with largely pointed spikes on the left and right side of her body. “The wait is over. JOYRIDE 4•13,” she captioned the shot. Joyride follows the 2016 release of Nightride, which was a mixtape that served as a prelude to her upcoming LP and a bit of an appetizer while fans waited for the full-length studio album.
No word on an official track list for the follow-up LP to 2014’s Aquarius, but we can assume that her 2018 single releases, “No Drama” featuring Offset and “Faded Love” featuring Future, will appear on the collection. She previously announced a third single called “Me So Bad,” featuring French Montana and Ty Dolla $ign, which will likely drop before the LP does in April.
It’s been a long time coming for the pint-sized performer, but we’re happy to see the LP has taken more step towards its release. “Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan, but that’s life, and things change,” the 25-year-old singer told The Guardian last summer of the road to Joyride‘s release. “It’s not like it’s sitting in a vault locked up, it’s always getting better and improving. I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year.”
