Grammy Award winning recording artist, Juicy J, is known for his dynamism and creatively thinking out the box. Not many artists have had successful hit records with different genre artists from Katy Perry to Lil Wayne; Juicy J has. His newest collaboration “Don’t You Wanna” is with rising star Denny Strickland, who Rolling Stone Magazine called a “Country Artist You Need To Watch”.
“Don’t You Wanna”, released through Strickland’s Red Star Productions, has a huge production team consisting of Sean Giovanni, Mike Smith, Jonathan Hay, and Juicy J himself. The video premiered on WorldstarHipHop (which is not a typical channel for country music) and was also added to Spotify’s mega popular playlist- Wild Country.
The video was shot by Alex Acosta and according to WorldstarHipHop, “No snakes were harmed during the filming.” Juicy J is currently promoting his most recent singles with both Travis Scott and Chris Brown, while also working on his next Columbia Records / Sony Music release. He also just struck a $525 million dollar deal with his CORE Nutrition Water.
“When I sent the song to Juicy J, I envisioned so many ideas of how I thought it might sound. The 16 bars and drums trapping it up made the song tough and then later opening the song with Juicy’s signature ‘Yeah Hoe’ was icing on the cake, taking ‘Don’t You Wanna’ to a whole new level of upper echelon. When we arrived on Alex Acosta’s set, it was an assembly line of video, press, and pictures throughout the day. It was nothing short of perfection. Juicy and I played off each other’s energy like we’d been friends for years!” – Denny Strickland as told to The Source
Denny Strickland and Juicy J‘s hit single is currently being remixed by Smith and Hay (Mike Smith and Jonathan Hay), King Graint, and Ranna Royce. The four producers have collaborated on Billboard Chart topping projects with Cyhi The Prynce, Kxng Crooked, Riff Raff, Bubba Sparxxx and DJ Whoo Kid. And now with Juicy J in the mix, it’s only a matter of time until there’s massive success with this project.
