Kendrick has been pilling on the wins in the first half of 2017. From a very successful album release to killing the festival stages, he is now going to be apart of art history. Tiona Cordova, a Pueblo, Colorado native who’s also a Centennial High School student won the 2017 Congressional Art Competition. The winning piece that she decided to submit was a very dope piece of K. Dot himself.
Cordova’s painting will hang at the U.S. Capitol until next year and the young visual artist will be recognized at an awards ceremony held in Washington D.C. We’re sure the other artists who were apart of this competition had some great work but Tiona’s K. Dot painting obviously took the cake.
As stated, Kung Foo Kenny has been killing this first half of the year. His highly anticipated album DAMN. sold 600,000+ units in its first week and ended up going platinum in under a month. He also tore down a few festival stages these last few months as he hit the stage in Miami for the Rolling Loud Festival and did his thing in California for Coachella.
