If you aren’t hip to KOTA The Friend, the rising MC from Brooklyn, then you’re not paying attention. He has been dropping consistently throughout the year and now he’s back with a brand new song titled “Cabin in the Woods.” The record catches the rapper addressing issues of his house not being completely whole which relates to him speaking on his lonesome.
“Cabin in the woods / Cabin in the woods / Always talkin ’bout leaving home and I really wish you wood / Get away from it all / You don’t need that, come here where the spring time breeze at,” KOTA raps as he opens up the song. “Somewhere where the tall palm trees at / Somewhere you can find your peace at / This world so cold when you on you own / Got a big ole house but it ain’t no home.”
KOTA has been dropping off his freestyles which he titles Lyrics to Go on his YouTube page to keep his fans in tune with the fact that he’s about to drop his sophomore project, Paloma Beach. The Brooklyn spitter is also about to embark on a mini tour this year so be sure to look out for that as he is currently putting the tour stops together. By the way, if you haven’t had the chance to read our exclusive interview with KOTA you can check it out here.
