New Atlanta-based artist, The Shade, has made his formal introduction onto the music scene in the form of a 5-track EP titled Leak.
The project (see below), totaling about 16 minutes, see’s The Shade mix singing and rapping on what he calls “a collection of 5 tracks that embody & introduce ‘The Shade’ to a new audience of listeners” which “takes you on a short trip through the mind of the dark creative”.
Among the EP’s tracks is the previously released “Stay”, whose hook (which is bound to get stuck in your head) is essentially the “Hey so, your Uber’s outside” line of a one-night stand manifested into lyrics.
Another previously released track included on Leak is “Hours” featuring Orlando artist, Otown Marco, with whom The Shade has frequently collaborated with in the past. You may remember Marco as the 17-year-old who took internet blogs by storm back in 2015 with his debut mixtape Studio Nights, the 12-track offering full of waves like “Dawn” and “Flowcaine”.
The Shade has performed alongside Marco at a couple shows in the central Florida area and after hearing his new EP, it’s safe to say he’s going to draw crowds for a few shows of his own in the near future.
