Long Island duo Dunbar has been on a run the entire year. Still capitalizing from their 2017 album No Hook 2, Bunchy Cartier and Sure Shot said it was perfect timing to release solo joints this year.

First to bat is Bunchy Cartier. Over the summer, Cartier dropped his first solo effort, Narcotics. This project may have flown over a few heads, but we the people of The Rapfest had to make sure the streets were hip to the finest of street language.

Narcotics is an ode to the 1995 Raekwon and Ghostface Killah classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. It’s a solo Bunchy Cartier project, but you hear Sure Shot on a majority of the songs as well, which is really dope.

“Don From Sicily,” produced by Doc Da Mindbenda, has a vintage 90’s mafioso flow, perfect for the upcoming cold weather. Other tracks like the Beats By Lawrence- produced “Start The Car” and “Whippin’ Water” deliver dope bars with neck-breaking beats to match.

Narcotics also features regular collaborators Villa G and Fat Joe’s newest signee UFO Fev. Production is provided by Beats By Lawrence, Backpack Beatz, Jewels Polaar, and Doc Da Mindbenda.

When you hear the title of the album, you know what to expect: grimy bars with grimy beats. Dunbar definitely hit the mark. Then again, they’ve never really missed.

If you haven’t peeped Narcotics, make sure you throw it on repeat ASAP. The weather is cooling down, it’s time to stay warm on the stove and jam responsibly. Check it out below!!
