With new music like Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN compilation last month, April was brazen and hot.
Kendrick Lamar released “Humble” and followed up with the release of his album DAMN. soon after. According to Billboard, the album is certified platinum.
In May, it seems Hip Hop only heats up. Logic released his third studio album on May 5th. His fans are already raving about the project, titled Everybody. Ninety-three percent of Google users love it. Logic’s new music also has a five-star rating on iTunes.
Consistent with Complex‘s article, Meek Mill dropped a three song collection, Meekend Music, yesterday. The project was in honor of his 30th birthday. He gave his word near the end of the month of April that he would be releasing the songs to celebrate his birth date. He delivered.
B.O.B will also release an album this month as previously shared on RAPFEST. The release is titled ETHER. The release date for B.O.B’s album is May 12th.
The accomplished Snoop Dogg will too distribute new music this month.
Snoop’s album titled Neva Left is set to be released May 19th. However, the album is already available for pre-order on iTunes. The latest single from the recording is titled “Promise You This”.
On top of that, Lil Yachty will also be releasing an album this month according to XXL. The album is titled Teenage Emotions. It will be released May 26th.
Lil Yachty released a new visual for “Bring It Back”- a single from the album on May 4th. Some of the ad-libs really stood out because they are in the classic style of Michael Jackson. The aesthetics of the beat are reminiscent of “Midnight City” by M83. The beat could even be compared to that of “What Is Love” by Haddaway. Furthermore, the Haddaway single was used in the movie, A Night At The Roxbury, which features some of the dance moves, and similar fashion styles seen in Lil Yachty’s latest music video release.
