The Meadows Music and Arts Festival is happening this weekend. One day in and it is already proving to be a monumental experience.
This 3-day music festival started yesterday, Friday, September 15th. With performances from Migos, 21 Savage, Jay-Z, and others from various genres- it was an event you would not want to miss. In fact, Migos showed up and shouted out the mothers. According to Bill Board, the group took a moment to show some love to those that “have love for themselves and their mommas”. Then, Jay-Z closed out Day 1 of the event. During his set, Jay-Z honors Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, love, and even momentarily shares the stage with Damian Marley.
Additionally, The Meadows Music and Arts Fest is being held in New York. Citi Field to be exact. That said, Day 2 has been just as eventful and memorable. The line-up includes, Big Boi, Tory Lanez, Future, Erykah Badu, and Queen’s native LL Cool J. LL Cool J even took the time to bring out A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip, and other acclaimed Artists. LL even honored the legacy of Phife Dawg. On the spiritual side, Erykah Badu asked the crowd to reflect on what it meant to be “woke” during her set. Then, after sharing her own personal definition of the term, “Woke is being aware of who you are at all times“, she went on to perform “Me”.
Furthermore, Day 3 will see Nas, Ghostface Killah, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Though certain passes are sold out, tickets are still available. This event has been epic already, if you can get there- you should.
