Rising Florida rapper YNW Melly has been charged in the death of Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr.
Oct. 27, 2018 is the day Melly took to social media in mourning the death of his childhood friends.
“They Took My Brothers From Me Over Jealously”, was part of the statement made by the artist after the incident transpired. Initially, it was reported as a drive-by shooting.
However, on Wednesday, police in Miramar, FL announced that they have made the last arrests in the case — and that Jamell Demons (YNW Melly) and his friend Cortlen Henry were responsible. Both of which now face two counts of first-degree murder.
Allegedly, police have said that Melly shot Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. and with Henry’s assistance, “staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting.”
No comments from the individuals attorney’s have been released as of yet, but that did not stop Melly is speaking his peace.
Police have also stated that “further investigation, supported by forensic evidence” led them to believe that the drive-by incident had been staged and Melly shot his friends. Henry, Melly’s assailant, has been identified as the person who brought Thomas Jr. and Williams to the hospital.
As the story develops, it’s evident that there are some underlying issues needed to be addressed in unveiling the truth behind this whole incident.
However, Melly does not appear to be worried as he left his Instagram community with this message, “Unfortunately a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries god is with me and my brother.”
