Hailing from Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY, the multifaceted Jamaican-American artist, Chase PE$O is not only a talented singer/ songwriter but also a skilled rapper, director and record producer. While he doesn’t credit all of his newfound success to himself alone, instead, he traces his strong ties to the music industry as far back as he can remember, growing up as the cousin of legendary Hip-Hop group members GZA, RZA, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard from Wu-Tang. It’s safe to say it’s clear where his lyrical influence stems from.
2008 was a huge year for Chase, as he gained quite a huge amount of exposure as a member of the Hip-Hop group “Renegades” with childhood friends.
But as 2010 approached, the group success slowly began to decline; with this, Chase decided to make a huge step for himself and his music by relocating to Atlanta. There he decided to take his solo career to the next level, working alongside competitive writing teams and world renown artists Akon and Roscoe Dash, to curate a variety of tracks in numerous genres from Rap and Hip-Hop to R&B, House, and EDM.
Though after two solid years of working in the back seat, Chase decided in Fall of 2012, to release his debut solo EP, Love or Lust, produced entirely by Atlanta’s hitmaker Young Mercy, known for working with some of the Hip-Hop heavyweights from Future and Gucci Mane, to the Migos, and that’s just to name a few.
Keeping up the momentum, the Bushwick creator released his second body of work in 2015 entitled Glass Jars & Butterfly Tops. The project did exceptionally well and received worldwide acclaim for its expert lyricism, conscious elements, and its unique tones, quickly being deemed an “instant classic”.
Since then, Chase has released two mixtapes, The Shmood, which dropped May of 2016 and Welcome To Mulaville in March of 2017, which has received a whopping 100,000 streams on Soundcloud.
Alongside with his M.U.L.A Society team, Chase has performed on over 200 stages all over the US, and has opened for hip-hop legendaries and trendsetters like Wu-Tang Clan, A$AP Rocky, Mike Zombie, Joey Bada$$, and Joel Ortiz.
Chase PESO is currently on a promotional tour for his hit single “Chico DeBarge” off his five track EP titled, Knee Deep In Shallow Waters. Since it’s release, it has amassed over 125k total streams with over 48,000 coming from Spotify alone. With the success of the original record and aid from Lyndel “Kay K” Rosemond (Manager of Erykah Badu, and Chico DeBarge), Chase was able to create a remix which is set to drop this summer. His connections secured vocals from Brooklyn artist Maino and legendary Neo-Soul singer Chico DeBarge himself.
