Many biopics have been made about legendary hip hop and R&B artists. From “Straight Outta Compton” to “Surviving Compton” to even TLC’s “CrazySexyCool” just to name a few. You can now add OutKast to that list.
Big Boi confirmed that he and group mate Andre 3000 have been in talks about developing a film based on their rise in the 90s. They have a few people on a list they would like to work with, including director Lee Daniels.
“Me and [Andre 3000] just spoke about it last week when I was in New York,” he revealed to the site HipHopDX. “I think he might have been taking a couple meetings talking to people and then I got a couple of people in mind that I’ma talk to, one of them being Lee Daniels who I just did the TV show ‘Star’ with so, yeah all that’s coming and we just know it’s time to do it. It’s coming!”
Big Boi said he might take the Ice Cube route and use one of his sons to portray him in the movie, but then again that wouldn’t be in classic OutKast fashion. They said it would be comedic and should cast somebody like Kevin Hart to play Big Boi and Leanardo DiCaprio to play Andre. LOL
That sounds more like an OutKast biopic to me!
