Los Angeles-based clothing empire, The Hundreds has quietly pumped out several clothing collabs with some extremely impactful and legendary brands that have helped mold the culture. One of the latest efforts coming in the form of a two sneaker collaboration with Reebok officially entitled, The Hundreds x Reebok Classic ‘Gemini’ Pack. The next being an ode to the nostalgia of record stores with the revealing of the Amoeba Records x The Hundreds Collection. And another collaborative effort coming in the form of the Rawkus Records x The Hundred Collection, a commemorative clothing collab to celebrate the one greatest record label rosters that brought us Black Star, Big L, Pharoahe Monch, a young Eminem, and so many more. Now, the LA-based streetwear apparel company is teaming up with a lifestyle magazine we all secretly ‘read’ during our youth in Playboy for a Playboy x The Hundreds peace-themed clothing collection.
The Playboy x The Hundreds ‘Peace’ Collection is an ode to the forever adapting social climate that the periodical openly excepted throughout their decades of prominence. Especially in regards to the 1960s, an era of socioeconomic change and the free love movement, a movement that inspired both women and men to fight discrimination in regards to sexual freedom, sexual preference, adultery, birth control, and so many more issues during that time that have rerisen in recent years.
The collaborative project features a plethora of summer-themed apparel pieces and accessories including t-shirts, long sleeve tees, button-ups, hoodies, bucket hats, and beach towels dressed in eye-catching pastel hues. The notorious Playboy Bunny logo is repurposed into a peace sign that shares the same visual aesthetic as the classic symbol made famous by the late Hugh Hefner.
The Playboy x The Hundreds Collection has the potential to become nostalgic in time as the magazine known for its nude photography and thought-provoking articles become chicer throughout the years. The Hundreds is quietly on a historic run that shouldn’t go unnoticed as BobbyHundreds and his team continue to curate some dope and cop-worthy product.
