Hailing from Inglewood, CA, is artist KB Devaughn decided what better time then now to release the official music video to hit single “For Me”, “A single Off of his debut project ‘4 me not u’, Released in April of this year. ‘For Me’ is KB’s personal favorite to date, mentioning that he feels as though the track displays his versatility while also tapping into his current style
The nearly three minute long video shot by Eric Nelson and co-directed by Kristopher Ballard, gives me a slight Tyler the creator vibe seeing as though he uses rather trippy visuals and deep base tones. How ever KB ‘The Westside Dog’ is certainly not boxed into that genre, especially after testing out several features on records with Pharrell‘s newest signee and fellow California-native Buddy ( who appeared on Nipsey Hussle‘s 2014 record “Status Symbol” off ‘Mailbox Money‘. ‘)
Either way For Me’ is a record full of emotion and passion. Where you find KB channeling some of his deepest memories, all while vividly painting a picture of his internal head space on a “mental canvas” ‘For Me’ is available on Youtube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

More on KB:
KB Devaughn (b. Kristopher Ballard) is known as The Westside Dog. Born March 3rd, 1994 at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California., where he lived in City of Champions until he was four years old then was taken away from his mother and forced into foster care until the tender age of 8, when he was reunited with his loving mother. Shortly after, KB and his family relocated from Inglewood to Long Beach, where KB’s music intellect was triggered and he began to spend time with his grandfather, James Gadson (Justin Timberlake’s former Tour Drummer), who at the time had a studio that Yung Berg (now Hitmaka) recorded out of. With so much influence surrounded him, KB began writing and making his own music, recording his first song at just 13 years old and registering himself as BMI songwriter in hopes of being a teen phenom. In 2009, KB releases his first mixtape, titled Outside The Indo, which spread like wildfire around his school. While attending Renaissance High School for the Arts, KB was able to study music and continued recording himself anywhere he could, but mostly in his grandmother’s laundry room. During his time at RHSA, KB became good friends with fellow RCA artist, Buddy, who helped him evolve even more into his artistry. After graduating, KB met EPICMUSTDIE and Dezzie Gee (Producer of Playin’) and began making music with them, creating the style that KB holds down still to this day. Soon, KB was introduced to Boogie (Newest signee of Shady Records) who gave KB his first feature on his debut album, Thirst 48 Pt. II, on the song, “Fall Before The Climb.” After taking the necessary time to perfect his craft and curate his sound, KB Devaughn comes forward with his first-ever project, 4 me not u, that made its debut on April 11th, 2018. Join him on his grind as he turns DOUBTERS into BELIEVERS.
