The Rapfest and top video streaming brand Dailymotion just dropped the next hottest monthly situation in this ever-evolving entertainment world of introducing new, dope talent coupled with an intimate, gem dropping discussion by a highly respected veteran, industry professional for all those emerging and unknowing souls looking to get that good fix.

That’s right y’all! The folks say we are onto something here.

With a packed house, music delivered by Bronx native DJ J Dough, complimentary food and drinks, some photobooth action, and a little bit of network & chill, emerging Brooklyn, New York rapper 718Spank was the feature, spotlight artist for this first go-round, giving a stellar performance of singles “All Day”, “Who Is It”, and current, buzzing single which has garnered love and support from the likes of superstar Rihanna, Travis Scott, OffsetDJ Enuff, and more, “Get Lost” followed by a real get-to-know him moment/conversation with event host, funny guy Jakk Doe.

Born and bred in Bedstuy, 718Spank’s hustle game is one to respect and note, as he is more than a special case.  Single father, going the road on his own, defying the expectations of being born into a dynasty, feeding himself, with his sturdy team, it’s only a matter of time that all know his name.

And to top off the nights’ festivities, we closed with an honorary celebration and recognition for former Bad Boy Hitman producer, musical director, motivational speaker, Platinum Boy Music’s Antwan ‘Amadeus’ Thompson.  The 17-year music industry vet, responsible for many, many hits with over 70 plus of your favorite artists like Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, French Montana, Justin Bieber, Danity Kane, the list goes on; your favorite artists’ favorite artists, as he gave quite an interesting appeal into today’s music landscape, adapting to the changes of the industry as artists and/or just fans, staying true to your sound, and a few other great takeaways on keeping firm to the grind and the passions.

His most recent projects to just hit airwaves: Chris Brown’s 2-disc album Heartbreak on A Full Moon, and Keyshia Cole’s single “Best Friend” off her anticipated 11:11 Reset album which both dropped in October.  Amadeus stays busy with more to come.

Pushing the culture forward, all that and more in this first edition of The LISTENING, check out the full recap below.  And stay tuned for the next spotlight and honorary event as we take over 2018 with some dope new talent you should know, along with those essential nuggets of info & conversation, helping you to push the culture too.
