Hip-Hop heavyweight Rich The Kid walks the runway

Sprayground, creative director David Ben David shuts down New York City for their first ever New York Fashion Week runway show. The streetwear brand Sprayground, known for creating colorful creative, celebrated 9 years of success. On Tuesday, September 10th, the team hosted its first-ever runway show. During NYFW, the hip fashion brand collaborated with the iconic film Fight Club for their debut runway show.

Creating a new collection of backpacks, luggage, and apparel which are all inspired by the hit movie, the pair teamed up. Sprayground founder, David Ben David designed the entire collection. A surprise guest appearance from hip-hop artist, Rich The Kid added to the hype. He strutted out on the runway to assist in the debut of the “Sprayground Fight Club” Spring/Summer 2020 collection.

Best known for their backpack and accessory designs, the latest collection did not disappoint once it ripped the runway. In fact, it included a new apparel line for the company. The new line also stayed true to its company ethos – one that doesn’t care about the status quo, but goes against the mainstream and designs with attitude. For their debut with this cultural collaboration, Sprayground pulled most of the tricks out their hat without tipping it and exposing what else they have! The runway show attracted a few urban notables including fashionistas Arta Gee, Morgan O’Connor and Tori Brixx, who is also Rich’s fiancée and mother to their new baby. Tyler C, Meeko Gattuso, Star Brim and a variety of fashion influencers were also in the building.

David Ben David Talks Inspiration Behind Collaboration

“To me, Fight Club was all about self-expression. It inspired me to follow my own path and not what society pushed me to do. Also, it’s about creating a company that is the anti-corporate America. Creating an ecosystem and a platform for creative individuals to express themselves. I want SprayGround to be known as a place where fashion, hair, skin, religion and tattoos aren’t frowned upon. Anything goes!”
