Late 2018 through 2019 has been a great year for emcee Roddy Ricch so far. From multiple billboard charting hits, co signs from some of the biggest artists in the game such as from the late Nipsey Hussle, and even an XXL freshman cover. It’s clear Roddy is here to stay for awhile. Kobalt music agrees with my sentiments as it has reached an agreement with Roddy.

The exclusive deal gives the rapper-singer-songwriter-producer full administration of the catalogue in addition to publishing, creative services and synch for all of his future works. With Kobalt’s history in working with successful music artists and Roddy’s run of success, it seems to be a match made in heaven.

How good has Roddy recent run been?

“Roddy’s versatility as an artist is one of a kind and allows him to successfully jump into any genre,”  -Sam Taylor, Kobalt executive vp creative

According to Nielsen Music, Ricch’s catalog of songs has accumulated 799 million on-demand audio and video streams in the U.S., while his albums have earned 398,000 equivalent album units. He has been on the scene since 2007, so his numbers are not only impressive but puts him among the highest selling artists in the industry currently. With Kobalt, Roddy is geared to continue his success in the music industry for the foreseeable future.

“I respect everything Kobalt’s been doing with the artists they’ve signed. Most importantly, I felt like they had a genuine interest and support of me as an artist and my vision,  which made the decision easy.” – Roddy Ricch on Kobalt Music
