Russell Wilson might be the most underappreciated franchise quarterback in the NFL at this very moment and there’s really no explanation for why that is. Wilson is a precise, mobile quarterback with a rocket of an arm, a combination that is troublesome for both defensive coordinators and some of the most agile defensive backs in the professional football league. Not to mention, the frontman of the Seattle Seahawks’ offense brought the franchise to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and ’14, earning the organization their first Super Bowl Championship in 2013. But for some reason, Russ rarely gets the recognition or respect he deserves from the mainstream media or football enthusiasts. Luckily, the Swoosh has decided to but some respect on his name with the release of his first ever signature silhouette in the Nike Dangeruss Wilson 1.

The Nike Dangeruss Wilson 1 takes on a streetwear/casual aesthetic with performance sneaker capabilities and technological installations, all the while taking on design elements from Nike’s ’90s basketball collection.

This initial offering comes in a ‘Triple Black’ color scheme and is constructed out of a combination of waterproof breathable tech mesh, patented leather, and premium suede. A mid-cut padded, perforated suede heel notch/collar panel draws the eye’s attention while a transparent Zoom Air cushioning unit is installed into the midsole of the sneaker. Embossed ‘Dangeruss Wilson’ branding hits the midsole heel of the casual kicks while a corrugated midsole and outsole provide the silhouette with much-needed traction.

The Nike Dangeruss Wilson 1 is currently available at select Nike retailers in the Pacific West region and online via for a retail price tag of $130. With that said, did Nike do Russ justice? Drop your thoughts on Russell Wilson’s first signature Nike sneaker in the comment section below.
