Uptown rapper Slayter has been quietly putting in work over the past few years and with the release of his last project, Real N*ggas Get Lonely his style has evolved as well. You may be familiar with Slayter from his debut project with Thelonious Martin titled DIRTYGAME. The mixtape found Slayter spitting over grimy instrumentals, but if you thought that’s all he had up is sleeve your sadly mistaken. With last year’s release of ‘RNGL’ Slayter showed there was more to him than just the grimy bars, showing more of a melodic side and radio-ready records. His unreleased single with Stelios Phili titled “Make It Look Good” was featured in Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2017 ad campaign reinforcing his musical prowess.
Today Slayter follows up RNGL with the release of his new EP Hotboy. The EP features rising Bronx rapper Leeky Bandz and is a perfect mesh of Slayter’s styles showing off everything he is great at throughout the 5 track project. If this is your first time listening to Slayter this is the perfect place to start.
Stream Hotboy below along with the video for “Pain” and look out for Hotboy 2 dropping tomorrow at midnight.
