Smokepurpp fans no longer have to worry about when DEADSTAR is gonna drop.
The South Florida rapper revealed to Billboard yesterday that his long-awaited project, which was supposedly 100% complete in late April, will now arrive on September 22nd. DEADSTAR is Purpp’s first project under his deal with former 300 Entertainment executive Todd Moscowitz’s Alamo Records, to which fellow South Florida rapper Wifisfuneral is also signed.
In addition to announcing DEADSTAR‘s release date, Purpp also dropped his new track “BLESS YO TRAP”, produced by ICE BREAM, the production duo of soundboi and Purpp himself. Here’s what Purpp had to say about the making of the track:
“soundboi and I recorded the track one late night in a Park Ave penthouse while looking down at Manhattan. I just want to bless everyone’s trap. Motivate people to hustle. Encourage everyone to be getting money like me.”
ICE BREAM also produced one of Purpp’s last releases, “STREETS LOVE ME”, a track featuring Juicy J which Purpp uploaded to his Soundcloud in late July. Purpp has also recently been in the studio with Travis Scott, but it is unknown whether or not a Scott collaboration or “STREETS LOVE ME” will be featured on DEADSTAR.
