As festival season continues, Soulfrito Fest 2017 will take place June 9th at the Barclays Center in New York.

Founded by Melissa Giles, the Soulfrito Fest was first held in downtown Miami in 2002.

“I started the festival in 2002 when I was about 18 years old and going to college. We did the first one at Bayfront Park and 8,000 people showed up. That was the first concert I ever did.”- M. Giles via Miami New Times

The platform was created to fuse the Latino culture with these 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation multi-cultural Latino artists. The first ever Soulfrito Fest did just that.

Furthermore, the Urban Latin Music festival has attracted partnerships from successful companies such as Heineken, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Toyota, and Jack Daniels to name a few.

Barclays Center reminds that this music festival will take place the same weekend as the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, with tickets to the Fest for sale now on their website.

Past performers at the festival include Pitbull, Nas, and Busta Rhymes.

This year, Soulfrito Fest will bring Rick Ross, Farruko, Cardi B, Zion & Lennox, Fetty Wap, Young M.A. and more. According to Hot 97, Meek Mill will also be performing at the event.
