Suge Knight Agrees To Delay His Murder Trial
Suge Knight has offically agreed to push back his original February 22nd murder trial date to sometime in May instead. Knight’s legal team hopes to get his $10 million bail reduced in the meantime.
According to reports by the New York Daily News, Knight’s fiancée Toi-Lin Kelly says Knight’s legal team is going to try and lower the bail by a “subpoenaed check, new eyewitness testimony and continued health issues.” She says:
“Suge is really willing to go to trial tomorrow. That’s how much compelling evidence we have. We are very ambitious about moving forward to trial.”
Knight showed up to court yesterday, December 6th, to tell Judge Ronald Coen that he agrees to change his trial date to lower his bail. Let’s remember that his bail was already reduced one time from $25 million to $10 million back in April 2015.
Suge Knight is currently in jail for being accused of killing Terry Carter and the attempted murder of Cle “Bone” Sloan. He is claiming not guilty on both counts because “Carter and Sloan were killed and injured as a result of Knight defending himself.”
In the court Knight also claims that Dr.Dre has tried to get him killed on multiple occations. Duane Folke, one of Knight’s lawyers who just joined the legal team this week, says he is “working diligently” to back up Knight’s claims and there is “definitely some connection to [Dre].”
Dre’s legal team has obviously threw those accusations out the window. They also released a statement saying:
“Given that Dre has had zero interaction with Suge since leaving Death Row Records in 1996, we hope that Suge’s lawyer has lots of malicious prosecution insurance.”
Knight has been in jail since January 2015, and it doesn’t look like he’s coming out anytime soon.
