Capital Öde (or Öde as his family calls him) is a Canadian born, US raised rapper/DJ. Öde was born in Scarborough on the East side of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) to two immigrant parents. His experiences as an immigrant growing up in the United States helped shape Öde’s voice and the direction his music would take.

On his latest single “Live Illegal” which was premiered last night at Treble.Fm’s #trebletuesdays in Brooklyn, Ode touches on his own experiences to make a track that is highly relatable especially with everything going on in the United States right now. The song was made in support of all undocumented immigrants, something that touches close to home because Ode himself grew up in this country as an undocumented immigrant from the age of 10 and didn’t become a permanent resident until he was 21. If you catch Captial Öde make sure you cop some merch, for every shirt purchased $5 will go to the largest youth-led immigrant ogranization United We Dream.
