“TRL” is finally back but also on a day that tragedy occurred. Many woke up Monday Morning hearing about Las Vegas shooting that claimed the lives of at least 58 people and injured more than 515 at a country music festival. All our prayers go to everyone & to the families who were affected by this horrible moment.

Having a group of amazing hosts, not to mention a renovated studio in Times Square. They had live performances from Migos and Ed Sheeran! Also an appearance from DJ Khaled! MTV wants to recreating this show with fresh new content which was originally ran from 1998-2008.

The show began with all its hosts and musical guests addressing the shooting in a silent studio.

“Last night in las Vegas, a horrible tragedy took place. It was the deadliest mass shooting in our country’s history,” said DC Young Fly. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. For us, it hits especially hard because it took place at a concert packed with people of all ages, coming together to share a common bond: the love of music.”

Co-host Tamara Dhia then directed viewers to Everytown.org, an organization devoted to ending gun violence.

“Even though our hearts are hurting right now, we’re not going to let it stop us and break that bond,” Young Fly continued. “Instead, we’re gonna keep going and lift each other up.”

Between performances, games and interactions with the audience, the show continued to come back to the events in Las Vegas.

“It’s important that we all pray more. God is great, there’s a lot of things going on in the world right now,” DJ Khaled said. “We have to stay focused, we have to spread more love. Right now, let’s pray for our people in Vegas, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Florida, Houston, everybody world wide.”

After showing additional support to victims, DC Young Fly also asked Khaled to share some “wisdom and words of motivation” for everyone watching at home.

“I’m a father now too, a proud father. My son’s name is Asahd Khaled, he’s my life, he’s my biggest blessing in the world. I work for him,” he said from atop a throne. “There’s so much going on in this world, all I keep thinking about is my son. We have to stay focused. I’m always gonna say this, I’m always gonna tell you this, love is the key, love is the answer, love is the solution. Love is the most powerful thing in the world. If you don’t got love around you, tell them to leave the building and if they don’t leave the building, you leave the building.”

“I have a rule in my house, no dark clouds allowed in the house. No negative energy. Stay away from them, simple,” he said. “Walk away or ask them to leave nicely, kindly. Monday motivation: Stay focused, don’t play yourself, reward yourself, and love yourself. Love is the key, another one.”

Before Sheeran closed out the show with a second performance, Young Fly made one more plea to the audience.

“What happened last night was an absolutely tragedy. It’s a senseless act of cowardice, my heart hurts for the victims,” he said. “Now as a country, we have to come together, lift each other up, keep the victims and their families in your prayers.”
